Re-envisioning Mind and Body Simply in an Age of Information Overload

In an era where modern individuals are swayed by an endless deluge of information, leading to increasingly complex self-care, this course offers an opportunity to experience and comprehend a new, holistic perspective that views the body and mind as an integrated whole, enabling a simpler approach to well-being.

【A Word of Caution!】
As your mind and body begin to integrate through this workshop, you will start to hear the voice of your own body. You will intuitively discern what serves you and what does not. Therefore, this workshop is not recommended for those who are uninterested in such a profound inner journey.

It is said that the etymology of "からだ" (karada), often written as 体, originates from terms like "殻" (kara), meaning a shell or husk, or "空" (kara), meaning emptiness – referring to the body of a deceased person, a mere vessel from which the soul has departed. Conversely, the living body is expressed as "み" (mi), written as 身, encompassing the entire mind, body, and spirit. Examining proverbs and idioms reveals numerous phrases using "身," but very few employing "体."

From ancient times, it is evident that people perceived "身" as the entire human being, without fragmenting it into "体" (body) or "心" (mind). While modern medicine has advanced, and we benefit greatly from it, it is also a fact that the more medicine progresses, the more diseases are categorized. Currently, over 10,000 types of illnesses are said to exist, with more expected to emerge. Yet, in ancient times, diseases were surely not so numerous. This exponential increase to over 10,000 types is a consequence of segmenting "身" into "体," "心," and other components, followed by further relentless sub-categorization.

Ancient Japanese people held an intriguing notion: "To give a name is for the name to ail," which they believed to be the essence of "悩み" (nayami – worries, literally 'name-illness'). Through this process of compartmentalization and naming, worries multiply. To lessen our anxieties, we must cease this fragmentation. In essence, we must perceive the "身" as a unified whole.

This experiential workshop is designed to help you transcend the conventional view of fragmenting the holistic "身" into mere "体" (body) or "心" (mind), guiding you instead to embrace a perspective that perceives the "身" as an integrated whole, thereby enabling a more effortless approach to mind-body maintenance.

During this workshop, we will explore:

・The simplest method to relax and reset your body
・How to interpret your body's condition
・How verbal cues can transform your physical state
・The process by which symptoms arise and the journey of healing, among other insights

No prior knowledge or experience is required. There's no need for intellectual exertion. Anyone is welcome to participate. Why not embrace a new perspective and transform your life into one where body and mind are harmoniously integrated?
